This past Saturday we got to attend, and participate, in the public high school's graduation. Several boys that live near the orphanage and who have volunteered at our summer camps graduated. Each graduate has a madrina or padrino, a person who escorts the graduate to the ceremony and presents their diploma to him or her. Amy was the madrina for one of the boys we know, Alexis. Below are Bryan and Luis.
Alexis and his brother Odalis get their gowns on with the help of their mom.
The graduates march in a short parade that leads to the high school and the location of the ceremony ... followed by the graduates was a local marching band.
